Blocked Drain
Clearance Across West Yorkshire
Slow sink, gurgling WC, foul smell outside? We clear blocked drains the same day across Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford and the rest of West Yorkshire — fixed price agreed before we start, no hourly meter running.
Common blockages we fix
Blocked sinks & baths
Hair, soap scum, kitchen fat. Cleared from the trap or jetted through the branch line.
Blocked toilets
Wet wipes, sanitary items, build-up. Rodded or jetted without lifting porcelain where possible.
Blocked external gulleys
Leaves, silt, fat. Cleared and back-flushed so the gully runs free again.
Blocked main lines
Every WC, sink and bath backed up — usually a single blockage in the main run, not each fixture.
Root ingress
Trees finding their way into clay or pitch-fibre joints. Cut out with mechanical roots cutter and CCTV'd.
Fat-blocked commercial lines
Restaurant kitchens, care homes, schools. Hot-water jetted and back on flow same visit.

Quick camera run to confirm it's clear and flag anything structural before we leave.

Blocked drain FAQs
- How much does it cost to unblock a drain?
- Typical domestic blockages are in the low hundreds including the call-out and clearance. We quote the price before we leave the depot — not after the work — so there are no surprises.
- Can you come out today?
- Yes — most blocked-drain calls in West Yorkshire are attended the same day, often within a few hours. If it's escalating into a flood, ask for our emergency line.
- What causes most blocked drains?
- Fat and food in kitchen lines, wet wipes and sanitary items in WCs, hair and soap in baths, and root ingress in older clay mains. We see all four every week.
- Will chemical unblockers work?
- Rarely on anything more than a partial sink blockage, and they can damage older pipework. They also make our diagnosis harder if they don't work. Save the money and call us.
- Do you guarantee the work?
- Yes. If a clearance doesn't hold for a structural reason we missed, we come back at no charge. If the blockage is caused by something structural (collapsed pipe, displaced joint) we'll quote the permanent fix before we leave.
- Will you damage my drive or garden?
- No — almost every blockage is cleared through an existing chamber or access point. We only excavate as a last resort, and never without a written quote first.
- What if the drain keeps blocking?
- Repeat blockages usually mean something structural — a collapsed section, a displaced joint, root ingress or a poorly-laid pipe. We CCTV every job so we can flag it before it becomes a regular call-out.
- Who pays for a blocked drain — me or the water company?
- If the blockage is in a pipe inside your property boundary, it's yours. If it's in a shared sewer (serving more than one property) or in a public sewer, it's usually Yorkshire Water's. We'll tell you which on site.
- Can blocked drains cause damp?
- Yes — a chronically blocked or leaking drain under the property can wick into floors and walls. If you've got unexplained damp near downstairs WCs or external walls, a CCTV survey is the fastest way to confirm or rule it out.
- Do you cover commercial blocked drains?
- Yes — restaurants, retail, factories, schools and care homes are most of our weekday work. Maintenance customers get priority response and discounted rates.
